I always find these quick sepia toned studies to be a good exercise in studying values. This was painted from a photo of my mother when she was very young. So cute.

Cute indeed! I love when you work from old photos, Ann. I think they are my favorites of your works by far.
Wonderful! I like working from greys then adding color later on my studio work. It really help me get the tonal values better.
