This was the second painting I painted plein air during our trip to Nantucket inspired by the picturesque town of Siasconset (pronounced and sometimes also seen spelled Sconset).

Here was my set up and view.

Here are a few more images of this beautiful place.

Nantucket Easy Street

Easy Street, Nantucket
10" x 10" x 1.5"
Oil with a palette knife on Blick Studio Artists Board
NFS

I painted this plein air while on Nantucket during a wonderful trip with my painting group, the Neponset Valley Artists (NVA). It will have a permanent home on Nantucket as it was given as a thank you gift to our hostess, Haydi.

Here are a few other shots from that day..

This photo shows my set up and view and my painting in progress.
Me-almost done with my painting.

And here is the group all set up and busy painting.

We had picture perfect weather with glorious blue skies the entire weekend. I will post more pictures from the trip as well as the other painting I did the next day in a future post.

The NVA on Nantucket

There will be several upcoming posts about our recent painting excursion to Nantucket with our painting group, The Neponset Valley Artists (NVA). To start, above is a photo of some of us at the Nantucket Whaling Museum. I think its a hoot.

In anticipation of our trip, I designed and created this sticker to give to everyone as a souvenir of our great adventure.
And here are some photos of the group in several of the beautiful places we visited and enjoyed together. What a trip with a great group of friends.

At The Flower Shop

At The Flower Shop
48" x 36"
Oil with a palette knife on canvas
Available

This is my first painting this large in a very long time. I thought it would be intimidating but I actually found it very freeing. I bought a larger palette knife to paint this with which made it easier to paint the large shapes and keep it loose. I completed this in the two days while working at the new expanded art gallery location at Patriot Place.

Here are a few progress shots.

Photos of the new gallery space

I wanted to share some photos that I took recently of our new, expanded art gallery and studio space at Patriot Place. We are having a Grand Reopening on September 23 from 12-9.

This is the wall space that Polo and I share.

Polo is busy organizing our space.
