A window sized painting!

Great Jones, NYC
40" x 30" x 2"
Oil with a palette knife on Ampersand Gessobord
Available

This is the view from my friends Wendy and Bill's place on Great Jones in NYC. We have been lucky enough to have stayed there a few times and I am always inspired by the views outside their windows. With this painting, I decided to capture that by actually painting the frame on of the window. Because of its large size, if you hung this on your wall, it would actually look like your view outside. Cool, huh?

And below are a few detail shots so you can see the palette knife texture up close. I always like how these look like little paintings themselves.

Capt Jack's Wharf

Oil with a palette knife on Ampersand Gessobord
SOLD
I started and finished this painting while working at the Artists Studio and Gallery at Patriot Place last weekend. Thanks again to John Jay for sending me such great photos to paint from.

Here is a photo of my original "sketch" stage...

And I took this photo when I was about 3/4 of the way done...

Another Peaceful Solitude

Another Peaceful Solitude
24" x 8" x 2"
Oil with a palette knife on Ampersand Gessobord
SOLD

I decided to paint this boat again on a smaller size canvas but same proportion as the first one. This is a really fun scene to paint, blending one pretty color into another.

After the torrential downpours we had from Hurricane Arthur on July 4th, the rest of the weekend turned out beautiful. Hope yours was too.

Happy Fourth of July!

With Uncle Tom
24" x 12" x 2"
Oil with a palette knife on Ampersand Gessobord
SOLD

This painting was done from a photo that my Uncle Tom sent to me of him and my two sisters taken on a beach in Jacksonville. The photos was taken on the same day that the one of me and my mother was taken. The two paintings are the same height so they look pretty great next to each other. I will post a photo of them together soon.

I hope you are enjoying the Fourth Of July on a beach somewhere.

And as usual, here are a few close up shots.
