The most photographed street in Boston

Acorn Street, Boston

16x20

Oil with palette knives on board

I painted this scene twice before at a smaller size (6x6) and wanted to try it in this larger format. This is a very famous street in Boston's historic Beacon Hill area, photographed more than any other street because of its quaint cobblestone street, historic brick homes, and inviting doorsteps. It immediately takes you back in time to the days of Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.

Beacon Hill doorway

Beacon Hill Steps II

8x10

This was another Boston scene that I had painted smaller before (5x7) and decided to try it slightly larger. This doorstep caught my eye with it's plentiful flowerpots and plants, creating a garden amongst the cement and bricks.

Boston's famous Newbury Street

Spring on Newbury Street

16x20

I've been working on building my inventory of Boston based paintings and was looking through some images I had taken around town when I worked on Berkeley Street. Newbury Street in Boston is a great place to stroll, shop, and dine while visiting the city and was not far from our office so I would spend many lunch hours there taking in the interesting architecture and people watching.

Custom House at a bigger size

Custom House, Boston

16x20

SOLD

I painted this scene previously at a smaller size (6x12) but decided I wanted to try it larger. Frani saw this painted posted on Facebook and told me that she and her friend had fond memories of the Custom House and Boston so she decided to purchase it for her home.

Here are a couple of pics she sent me once she found the perfect spot to hang it.

Seaport Boston

View From The Seaport District, Boston

12x24

I think I've painted this scene about 5 or 6 times. It is always a popular view of the Boston skyline as seen from the harbor walk in the Seaport District.

Today, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of our country, many tall ships will parade through this waterway and will be quite the spectacle to watch.

New larger sign commission

Entering Arlington

24" x 30"

Oil with palette knives on board

Brian saw the painting of the Entering Lexington I had for sale at Galaray House and asked if I would paint one for him with the Arlington sign. He wanted to include some iconic Arlington spots in the background so I included (from left to right) the Uncle Sam Monument, the Minuteman Bike Trail, a painted horse, and the Cyrus Dallin museum.

As a special touch, he wanted to add himself walking his two dogs into the scene. That's them at the bottom right.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hydrangea Fireworks

8" x 10"

Oil with palette knives on board

SOLD

I was looking through my references for something to paint on a small board I had and came across this image of hydrangeas. While I was painting it, I kept thinking how this large blooms resembled a fireworks display on the Fourth of July.
