I revisited this painting. Something was bothering me. There was no sky and I think it was making the painting feel too yellow and orange overall. You can see the earlier version by clicking here. I thought if I added a nice blue it might make the other colors pop more. It's always scary to do something like this because, what if you make it look worse? So no one is allowed to tell me you like the original painting better. Oh-alright, I can take it.

Gorgeous closeup of the Opera House, Ann. I am amazed at how much the texture gives a sense, a feel of the architecture! I hate to say this, but I really do like the original better. It gives a more real sense of the city that houses this gorgeous building; a more honest point of view, I guess I'm thinking. (I've worked in downtown Chicago and a straight ahead view of this building would indeed have the skyscrapers towering over it all around.)
It is so cool to see the transformation. I like this new one with the sky. The close-up is yummy

I liked the original and didn't think it looked too yellow/orange but I like the new version better. It is less congested looking and since I'm not much of a big city lover, I think it makes me feel more relaxed than the first version.
