Gardenias from the Garden

Gardenias from the Garden
6" by 6"
Oil with a palette knife on cradled artist board
SOLD

This was a quick painting done in class last week. It turned into a study of whites, complementary colors, and composition. Plus a little bit of me hoping summer doesn't go away too soon. Come into the garden, have a seat, relax, and enjoy nature with me.

Ann, I love this way this came out and your description of it. It's true - it's a study of whites, complements, and composition and all of it is totally resolved. Well done!

And I'm with you in hoping summer sticks around longer!

That is just gorgeous! The whites pop right out! Just lovely! Don't you love it when a painting comes out so well right away with very little fussing afterwards?

Oh my. I think this is a new favorite. Something so beautiful, representing a sweet and simple moment in time, peace and serenity. Absolutely gorgeous work, Ann!
