Next up in my series of girl paintings, is this little girl reading. There was something about her pose, sitting in the chair that looked so natural to me. We've probably all sat in a chair like that when we were kids. Or maybe even as adults. The stuffed animal friend tucked behind her was also captivating to me. So sweet.

It's that time of year again. The magic of Christmas is just around the corner. But first, let's enjoy the wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving to be with family and loved ones and simply enjoy a good meal and be thankful for what we have.

I loved this image because I knew it would be a challenge to paint the glow on the little girls face as well as capturing the candlelight while still getting detail in the darks.

Next up in my series I call "Las Ninas" is this young girl learning how to fish. I loved the light depicted in this image as it makes both her and the rocks glow. I bet she catches something soon.

I found the image I used as my inspiration for this painting on Unsplash.com. It's a great resource for artists since the images can be used copyright free. I loved this girls pose, outfit, not to mention the gorgeous background. I knew it would be a perfect choice to utilize my palette knife techniques.

I've painted this cute pup before, but in her honor, there was a request to paint her again. She deserves to be captured in this moment of happiness with her tongue and tail wagging playing in the waves with her tennis ball.
