It's a Leap Year but Spring is coming

Playing In The Mud

11" x 14"

Oil with palette knives on board

SOLD

Spring is coming, I can feel it. Recently we've had a long stretch of really gray days, so I was looking for something whimsical to paint to try to lift my spirits. It was really fun to paint all the little details in this image with my knives, as well as capturing the bright colors of the wellies and the outfits of these kids making the most of a wet and cold day.

New in my series of Massachusetts entering signs is Wellfleet. The background of this paintings shows a popular spot in the summer called The Beachcomber that sits right on the edge of the dunes at Cahoon Hollow Beach on the national seashore of Cape Cod.

Happy Valentines Day

Lunch Date (at Ross' Grill)

12" x 24"

Oil with palette knives on board

When Polo and I make one of our day trips to Ptown, we make sure the weather is nice so that we can enjoy a nice lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. Ross' Grill is one of those places. It was the first places we enjoyed a Negroni and now we order one whenever we go there.

I am looking forward to April when we head up there to drop new work off at the red inn. This piece will be part of that collection.

It's a marvelous night for a....

Moondance

9" x 12"

oil with palette knives on board

SOLD

My friend Bill send me a photograph that his friend took on a clear, full moon night in Provincetown. He told me that he'd love to see how I'd paint it. So, I decided to really exaggerate the colors and amp up the brush stokes to give it lots of energy and interest.

"Can I just have one more moondance with you, my love?"

A new ENTERING sign commission

Entering Rockport

16" x 16"

I painted an Entering Charlestown sign for Scott a few months back. He contacted me again because he wanted to treat himself to a similar sign for his new place in Rockport. The scene in the background shows the famous red building called Motif #1 which is a classic sign that you are in Rockport.
