I love coming up with titles for my paintings. As I am painting, it usually comes to me. But this time I need your help. Nothing is bubbling to the surface so I'd love to hear your suggestions.
By the way, this was painted from a photo I took on one of my recent visits to New York.
Thanks, good luck, and I look forward to your inspirational suggestions!
UPDATE 9.26.11 Wow-what a great list of suggested titles I received from everyone. I really appreciate them all and am going to put them all in the hopper to use for future paintings. I decided on City of Gold-this seemed to be a theme running throughout a lot of the suggestions.
Also-for Sherry, that little red building "dwarfed by the city that grew up around it" is the Merchant's House Museum on East Fourth Street. It looks like a really interesting place and I have to put it on the list for our next visit.

What street is it in NY? Maybe just the street name? I subscribe to the Keep it Simple rule of thumb:))
One person on Facebook had suggested "Golden Day." I think the idea of "gold" and "fall" seem appropriate because of the ochre. An especially nice painting!
It looks like a morning in town to me, or morning in the city. The quality of the light makes me feel like a good stretch, or is it because I saw this in the morning? How about Morning Light?
I always have a hard time with that too. "city light"
On a different tangent, how about "Paint and the City"
Another beauty, Ann! Your cityscapes are simply the best. Maybe because I know this is NY and we just passed 9.11...but all that comes to mind for me is "United We Stand." I am so curious about that smaller building dwarfed by the city that grew up around it. Do you know what it is?
I like City Light. :)
Guilded came to mind for me.
Thank you everyone for your great title suggestions. I really appreciate them all and am going to put them all in the hopper to use for future paintings. I decided on City of Gold-this seemed to be a theme in the suggestions.
Wonderful choice of titles and I can't wait to hear about what you see in the museum on your next trip!
