I've always wanted to be a famous catalog model

Hey. This is exciting. I just found out that one of my paintings will be featured on the painting knives page of the national Fall 2010 catalog for Dick Blick art supplies. How cool is that? The designer was nice enough to send me his layout for the page. Doesn't it look great? I am thrilled. And it makes me want to buy every knife on the page (although I own most of them already). I feel so famous.

That IS exciting! Congratulations. Did you submit work to them, or did they 'discover' you?

Congratulations, Ann! I am curious about Michelle's question too. I think Dick Blick is headquartered here in my state, a couple of hours from me. I feel proud that a business here features one of my blogging artist buddies! Woohoo!!!

While it would have been exciting to have just been "discovered", I sent them an email saying how much I liked that they feature real artists work in their catalogs and inquired how my work might be considered. They responded right away and this is the result. You never know, right?

Hurray for the exposure. So glad I have original paintings by you because it seems that your prices should be going up up up~!

Ann, that's so cool being the "spokes-knifist". I can say "I knew you when..."
