Portofino-take me away!

Buon Viaggio

A friend of mine, who retired a few years ago, made it her goal to "see the world" and she is darn near close to doing just that. Every year she books cruises to exotic place, takes wonderful photos of her travels, and then creates a book out of each journey once she arrives back home. She showed me this photo of Portofino, Italy and I asked her if I could paint it because I fell in love with the colors and textures of the buildings. I have yet to see Portofino in person, but hope to do so one day.

Buon pomeriggio.

I am instantly reminded of Sitges in Spain. Gorgeous job on that water, Ann, and the patience you show on all those boats. I took a photo once of a harbor scene hoping to paint it and I confess it has never managed to get painted. All the boats threw me! LOL Beautiful work and here is hoping you get to Portofino one day!

Just personal, but I think you're at your best in your cityscapes. You make the buildings sing ... a song all of your own composition.
