A Peaceful Solitude

A Peaceful Solitude
30" x 10" x 2"
Oil with a palette knife on Ampersand Gessobord
SOLD

Thanks to Paul for letting me paint from a photo he took while in Provincetown last summer. The glow at sunset in Ptown is really unlike any place else. This lone boat on the water looks so peaceful. I would love to be there right now.

I am loving this unusual size panel made by Ampersand. I think I'm going to be doing more paintings at this size.

Below is a close up on the boat so you get a better feel for the palette knife texture.

This is lovely Ann. I too like the size and shape. Always good to change things up!

So happy I found your blog again, Ann. I re-started my blog and found a place that had all the blogs I signed on to follow by clicking on the B icon in upper left corner. I didn't go through the whole list because it listed them in order of most recent post so there were many repeats but I was so happy to find the link for yours again. I've always loved your work. This piece surprised me to see it was done in palette knife. It has such a smoothness to it!
