Countdown to the show

Tonight's the night! I know a lot of this blog's readers don't live in the New England area, but I hope that if you do, we'll see you at Custom Art Framing and Gallery 9 in Norwood from 6-8pm this evening.

Things are really heatin' up. Last night, the Gallery preSOLD my giant 36" by 24" Boston city scene painting. Woo hoo. I am so excited and thrilled.

A New Gallery!

Last Friday I went to meet with the nice folks at 13 Forest Gallery in Arlington to see about showing some of my work there. They selected three pieces of mine and one of Polo's. Yeah! How exciting is that?. The gallery has a great location along busy Mass Ave and they have a wonderful variety of artwork on exhibit there. We are thrilled to be a part of their collection. They have a new show opening next Friday from 7-9 so stop by and check it out!

Going once, going twice...SOLD!

Polo's painting, Apples in Red and Green was one of the more popular pieces at the art auction to benefit Walpole's new library on Saturday night. Wow, what a turnout. The tickets sold out ahead of time and as the very busy bartender said to me "It looks like everyone showed up." We'll find out soon how much money was raised but a quick calculation of the art auction part alone is probably more than $10,000. They also have silent auction items and ticket sales to add in. It was fun evening and great to see how people really value and appreciate art in the midst of a suffering economy. Here are a few photos from the night. Friends of the Walpole Library should be very happy with the turnout. We're on our way to a new library. Yeah!

October 3rd Tag Team Events

On Saturday, October 3 Polo and I will be in 2 places at once. From 10am-4pm we'll be at the 5th annual Walpole Arts & Music Festival held at Blackburn Hall and from 1pm-5pm we'll also be plein air painting at an artist fair held at Patriot Place in Foxboro. If you haven't checked out Pat's Place yet (that's what the kids calls it) you should make a trip down there. It's pretty amazing. We've figured out how we can do a tag team approach and be able to participate in both events. Oh-and it's also the drop off day for the Foxboro Art Association's Fall Member Show. Wish us luck!

Rain has postponed the plein air artists event at Patriot's Place to Monday, October 12 from 1-5pm. Come on down!

Today we hung our paintings at the Barnes & Noble in Walpole. Here are a few shots of the exhibit which will be up for the month of July. We hope that everyone enjoys the view while they sip their Vente-Two-Pump-Vanilla-Non-Fat-Extra-Hot-Lattes.

I'm married to a famous artist!

My husband's latest show at the Moose Hill Massachusetts Audobon Society Gallery has received some great media coverage. He's been too busy to brag and blog about it so I'm going to do it for him. His picture and articles have appeared on the cover of this week's Sharon Advocate, The Walpole Times as well as the MetroWest Daily News. There is also a You Tube video that one of the reporters posted. I am SO PROUD!

Setting up the show

Wow-setting up an art show is a lot of work! Today, we went to the Moose Hill Gallery in Sharon to set up my husband Polo's art show, "Untamed Strokes of Nature" that opens this Thursday. It is amazing how much preparation work goes into the show and then how tiring the arranging, hammering, screwing, wiring, hanging, and straightening to set up the actual show can be. Thanks to show curator, Jan Goba, the results are stunning. We hope you can stop by the reception this Sunday from 1-4.

Sunday, snowy Sunday

It's snowing again today. So what else is new this winter? As I watch the kids head down our street with their sleds, it makes me think of this painting I did from a photo that my husband, Polo, took of my stepdaughters, Marissa and Ariana sledding. The snow sure is pretty when you don't have to drive in it.

Polo usually does the shoveling though, lucky guy. Here is a sketch he did for his latest illustration "Snowman". Somewhat of a self portrait I imagine?
